Prince Harry’s 9-word comment that destroyed his relationship with Princess Catherine Revealed

Prince Harry previously made a 9-word comment that is said to have destroyed his relationship with Princess Catherine. The 41-year-old once shared a close bond with his beloved sister-in-law, who entered his life when she began dating Prince William two decades ago.

Since stepping down as a senior working royal and moving to the US with Meghan Markle and the pair have experienced a fractured relationship, with Harry no longer on speaking terms with both the Prince and Princess of Wales. Princess Catherine had even previously tried to reconnect her husband and his brother, seemingly wanting the two of them to repair their bond.

Speaking about his recently released book, Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen, author Christopher Andersen said: “Kate and Harry had a very close relationship – he often said she was the sister he never had.

“They shared the same sense of humour, and I think there was real love there. Kate did everything she could for years to try and get the brothers back together.”

He added: “Even after Harry threw William and basically the entire Royal Family under the bus and his memoir Spare, she hadn’t given up entirely.”

Speaking about the moment, and Harry’s comment, that appeared to destroy their relationships, he added: “When Harry made the comment, ‘I don’t know how much longer my father has,’ he was tossing gasoline on the firestorm of speculation about just how serious the King’s condition was.

For Kate, who knew better than anybody how demoralising a public statement like that could be for someone battling cancer, it was simply too much.

The last bridge was burned. Kate has simply thrown up her hands and given up on rebuilding the bond between the brothers.”

The comment was made during an interview with the BBC where Harry spoke of his wish to reconcile with his family. In his biography, royal expert and editor Russell Myers previously wrote that Catherine often tried to keep William and Harry on “the same team”.

He wrote: “Whether counselling William or having a quiet word in Harry’s ear, she saw it as her duty to keep the two brothers on the same team, as did their senior aides.
