Princess Kate gave a blunt response when asked about her split with Prince William in 2007.

A previously unreported encounter between Kate and TV presenter Tara Palmer-Tomkinson has come to light from a 2007 book launch.

The interaction occurred during Catherine’s brief split from Prince William, when she was 25 years old, according to the Mail.

Kate and her sister Pippa attended the launch party for Simon Sebag Montefiore’s biography “Young Stalin” at Asprey jewellers in Mayfair
Tara was the daughter of Charles and Patti Palmer-Tomkinson, who were among King Charles’s closest friends.

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson sadly died a decade later in 2017, aged 45.

She had known Prince William since he was a little boy, giving her a unique familiarity with the Royal Family.

During their conversation, Tara directly asked Catherine about her breakup with William, which had been widely reported months earlier.

How are you doing?” Tara asked.
Kate replied: “Fine,” and reportedly started blushing.
“It must be so hard…” Tara persisted.

“Really, it’s fine,” Kate reportedly responded firmly, though uncomfortably.
The conversation moved on to different topics following the brief interaction.

Kate and William got back together in early 2008, before getting married in 2011.

The couple share three children together, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Next year will mark their 15-year wedding anniversary in April.
