Royal family’s nasty gesture to Kate Middleton and Princess Diana that fans won’t forgive…
The British royal family has once again found itself at the center of controversy, this time for its International Women’s Day tribute.
In a social media post meant to honor influential women within the monarchy, neither Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, nor the late Princess Diana were included, sparking outrage among royal supporters.
The post featured a series of photographs celebrating the contributions of notable royal women, with the images all taken by female photographers.
“Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we want to show the royal family’s long-standing support for female photographers, dating back to the emergence of photography in the mid-19th century,” the caption read.
Among the royals featured in the tribute were Queen Elizabeth II, a photograph of whom was taken in 1952, followed by images of Queen Camilla, Queen Victoria, Princess Anne, Queen Alexandra and Sophia of Edinburgh.
However, the absence of Middleton-one of the most beloved members of the royal family-was glaring, especially considering her ongoing battle with cancer.
Public outcry over Kate Middleton’s exclusion
It didn’t take long for royal enthusiasts to express their disappointment, with social media users flooding the post with questions and criticism.
Many pointed out that Kate, despite being one of the most respected and admired figures in the monarchy, was completely overlooked in the tribute.
“I can’t find the Princess of Wales among them,” one user wrote. Another added, “I’m sad because I don’t see the Princess of Wales.”
Middleton, who has consistently ranked among the most popular royals in public polls, has had an especially difficult year. Her cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment have drawn an outpouring of support from the public.
Given her prominence in the royal family and her commitment to humanitarian work, many found it surprising-and even disrespectful-that she was not recognized in a tribute dedicated to influential royal women.
Diana’s absence fuels further criticism
While Kate Middleton’s exclusion drew significant backlash, she was not the only royal missing from the tribute. The post also failed to acknowledge Princess Diana, arguably one of the most iconic figures in the history of the British monarchy.
Royal supporters were quick to notice her absence, with many calling for Queen Camilla’s removal from the post in favor of Diana.
Comments such as “Remove Camilla and please put up Lady Di,” and “What about Lady Di? I don’t see her picture,” flooded the royal family’s social media pages.
