Heartfelt message: Novak Djokovic release love poems written to his wife on their tenth anniversary

Novak Djokovic paid tribute to his wife on ten years, Jelena, with a note that he shared to his social media channels.

The seven-time Wimbledon winner shared a number of images and videos of himself and Jelena on Instagram, writing a 98-word note to his partner in the post caption.

Jelena was herself a tennis player in her youth and when they met in high school the sport was one of several shared passions and something that has seen the couple grow together.

Djokovic believes that his career would not have been as long or as successful if it were not for having a wife with an understanding of what it means to be a tennis professional.

While her husband remains in the thick of it with tennis, Jelena says she only plays for fun and usually with the kids.
The couple announced their engagement in September 2013 and tied the knot the following year.

The love birds were married in an intimate ceremony on the grounds of the exclusive Aman Sveti Stefan resort in Montenegro, back in 2014.

Jelena gave birth to their first child, a son named Stefan, in October 2014.
Three years later with Jelena’s absence at Wimbledon not going unnoticed the couple revealed that a second child is on the way.

Apart from being mother to their children, she also has a role within the tennis star’s charitable foundation.

“Being absent from the children is not something that makes me very happy. It’s a balancing act between me and my wife and the close people in my life. So her being there for our children and everything, it allows me to be able to do what I love and still make some strides, significant strides, in this sport,” Djokovic said.

Jelena and the kids have been spotted at Wimbledon and with Djokovic spared action on Wednesday after Alex De Minaur was forced to withdraw from their match with injury, he would have been afforded a small slice of time off to spend with his family on a special day.

“Ten years of joy, Ten years of dreams, Ten years as islands, Ten years as streams,” Djokovic wrote.

“Ten years as parents, Ten years as one, Ten years of dancing, Ten years of fun.

“Ten years of yoga, Ten years we stretch, Ten years of dogs, Ten years go fetch.

“Ten years of flying, Ten years at sea, Ten years of you, The best part of me.

“Ten years of tennis, Ten years of balls, Ten years of triumph, Ten years of falls.

“Ten years as teammates, Ten years together, Ten years Jelena, I love you forever. I love you.”
