Kate Middleton left devastated as she wants fans to stop focusing on her war…
Kate Middleton is known for her colorful and elegant fashion choices. However, the Princess of Wales is hoping that her fans will focus more on her patronages and public service rather than what she wears.
According to the Sunday Times, Kensington Palace won’t be dropping the luxury brand names that she dons for her royal public engagements.
A palace source noted: “There is an absolute feeling that it [the public work] is not about what the princess is wearing. She wants the focus to be on the really important issues, the people and the causes she is spotlighting. There will always be an appreciation of what the princess is wearing from some of the public and she gets that. But do we need to be officially always saying what she is wearing? No. The style is there but it’s about the substance.”
In the past, the Palace would often share details of Kate’s wardrobe, as Buckingham Palace did with the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Kate’s sartorial decisions have long influenced trends, with fans rushing to the stores to copy her style. This often leads to outfits being sold out in shops.
An insider told the Sunday Times back in 2022 that the media’s obsession with her fashion choices has sometimes frustrated her.
When she goes to the Bond premiere or is at Trooping the Colour, of course she puts on the ‘uniform’ of the role. But what was enormously frustrating and difficult for her, especially in the early days, was she was going out and doing the work she was interested in and was hugely important to her, and people just talked about what she was wearing,” the source noted.
Among the designers that the Duchess of Cambridge adores, is her wedding dress creator, Burton, as well Jenny Packham.
Kate is currently making a gradual return to public life following her recovery from cancer. The mother of three announced she had a form of the illness in March 2024 and earlier this year, she revealed she was in remission.
