Meghan Markle’s friend revealed her daughter is going through the ‘princess phase’ as Adrian Lipscombe defends the Duchess of Sussex following criticism about the launch of her new Netflix show, which debuts on Wednesday, January 15.
The 43-year-old former actress will star in With Love, Meghan, in a docuseries that gives fans an insight into her life at her Montecito mansion, what she likes to do with her days and how she approaches the world with her philosophy.
But with Markle, she faces negative media reaction no matter what she does and the new television show, consisting of eight episodes, is no different as Vox Media’s Eater published an article that hit out at her for being boring.
Nonetheless, Lipscombe rushes to her aid by hitting out at the publication on Instagram as well as calling for as retraction, adding the article marked a drop in standards for the food-themed outlet as well as saying they don’t know the Duchess.
“How are you going to criticise someone or judge a TV show before it has even aired,” Lipscombe posted to Instagram. “@eater, there was a time we looked to you for thoughtful reporting, a pulse on food trends, and some real insight into the food world. But now? This feels like a step down.
“I’ve had the pleasure of meeting @meghan over food, and let me tell you, she and her well-known significant other are some of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever met.
“We talked about our families (mostly about our daughters being in their princess phase and the movies they love) and, of course, about food. She didn’t rush the conversation, even though I was taking up her time. She was gracious, engaged, and kind.”
Lipscombe’s rare revelation about Lilibet
Lipscombe concluded by accusing Eater of slipping into “tabloid noise” regarding Markle, as well as declaring the article was low-effort sensationalism designed for clicks, before questioning the ethics of portraying a black women in such a manner.
Perhaps unknowingly, the professional chef may have given fans a rare update to how Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter is getting along by revealing they are in the ‘princess phase’ of girlhood, where girls become obsessed with princess such as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella or Rapunzel.
The three-year-old is unique in the sense that she’s never been closer to princesses. Lilibet is one herself, whilst her grandmother was Queen Elizabeth II.
Her auntie is Princess of Wales (Kate Middleton) and her cousin, Charlotte, is one too. Lilibet is currently seventh in the line of succession.
