Prince Harry and King Charles’ relationship ‘hits new low’ after ‘sticking…

Reports have surfaced that after King Charles was diagnosed with cancer, his son, Prince Harry made a hasty return to the UK from California amidst existing family strife. Even with multiple trips back since, Harry has yet to reconcile with either his father or brother Prince William, as their relationships remain fractured.

Though many hoped the cancer battles faced by both King Charles and Princess Kate might bring the divided royals together, it appears a significant “sticking point” lies in the way of any potential familial healing. The bone of contention seems to be the legal case Prince Harry initiated against the Home Office concerning his security detail.

After Harry and Meghan chose to step down from being senior working royals in 2020 and moved abroad, Harry’s government-funded police protection was retracted, prompting him to take action, particularly as global borders began shutting due to COVID-19 concerns.

In his bestselling memoir, Spare, Prince Harry revealed that the Sussex family felt like sitting ducks when their location was published in the press. He described it as “the ultimate nightmare. The worst of all worst-case scenarios. Any bad actor in the world would now be able to find us.

He also mentioned that the head of his police security team informed him that the threat level against them was higher than nearly every other royal, equal to that of the Queen, reports the Mirror.

His security chief reportedly pleaded with superiors not to abandon Meghan, Harry, and Archie. Harry claimed he couldn’t reach Charles about the issue, who “wouldn’t take my calls”, but William apparently said, “It was a government decision. Nothing to be done.

Although his initial action against the Home Office was unsuccessful, he was granted the right to appeal.

Royal expert Kate Mansey suggests that this ongoing matter has made Charles hesitant to fully reconcile with his son.

Harry’s decision to sue the King’s government in the King’s courts is the sticking point, I am told,” penned Mansey for The Times. “Harry is challenging a decision by Ravec, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, which decides what security is provided for the royal family and other VIPs. The royal household is represented on the committee and would have had a seat at the table when the decision was made to remove Harry’s automatic right to police protection in Britain.”

“It places the King in a tricky position because Harry has been granted leave to appeal. Until the case is concluded, there is little Charles feels he can say to his son. As for Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, there is no communication with the King and Queen.
