The Princess of Wales’s former university flatmate has delighted royal fans by sharing memories and an unseen photograph from their time together at St Andrews.
Laura Warshauer, who lived in the same halls as Kate during their first year, recently posted a candid snap of the future Queen at a flat party from their student days.
The image, which has captured widespread attention, shows the pair during their time at St Salvator’s Hall of Residence, where Kate first met Prince William in 2001.
Warshauer took to Instagram to provide context about the celebration, describing their university experience as a “magical time.
In a recent Instagram reel, Warshauer shared details about the memorable gathering, which took place at a flat on Hope Street.
“I remember this college party like it was yesterday. We were both freshmen at the University of St Andrews,” she recalled.
The celebration was for a student known as “hairy Ollie” who was marking his 19th birthday.
The photograph shows both Kate and Warshauer holding brownie bites and smiling for the camera.
The flat would later become significant in Kate’s university journey, as she went on to live there during her second year of studies.
In the photograph, Kate wore a cream turtleneck jumper and embraced her natural curls, keeping her makeup minimal with just a touch of brown eyeshadow and blush.
Her accessories were simple, featuring pearl stud earrings and a thin blue hair scrunchie on her wrist.
Warshauer, dressed in a black V-neck jumper, reflected on their shared university experience as being particularly special.
It really was a bubble we all existed in that felt removed from the outside world,” she shared on her Instagram reel.
Royal fans responded enthusiastically to the glimpse into Kate’s student days, with one commenting: “I’m sure Catherine was the loveliest person to be around.”
Warshauer, who returned to the US after graduation, shared vivid memories of Kate and William’s early romance at St Andrews.
She recalled a particularly memorable evening in November of their first year at a Harry Potter-themed party in a castle.
