Prince Harry has an “open line” of communication with Kate Middleton amid hopes of a royal reunion, according to a source.
The Duke of Sussex has a tense relationship with his relatives after he and Meghan Markle issued a number of attacks against the royal family after stepping down. Harry, however, has been open about his hopes of one day reuniting with his loved ones.
A source has claimed that could happen sooner than fans think thanks to the Princess of Wales. They suggested Harry is still in contact with Kate, which is why he remains hopeful for a reconciliation.
“Harry recognizes and accepts that brokering peace with his family is a slow burn, but he feels cautiously optimistic about what the future holds,” the source said. They suggested Harry is “ending the year with a glass-half-full outlook” when it comes to a family reunion.
However, the Duchess of Sussex isn’t so keen on a royal reunion. The source said she isn’t happy after being snubbed from the invite list for the royal family’s Christmas.
It’s been reported King Charles hasn’t invited Harry and Meghan and is no longer answering their calls. The source said Meghan has found the decision not to invite them “incredibly demeaning.”
There’s been virtually zero attempt by the royals to mend fences or welcome them back into the fold and that really stings,” the source told Heat Magazine.
Harry and Meghan haven’t celebrated Christmas at the Sandringham Estate since 2018, two years before they left the royal family and moved to Montecito, California. It’s believed they’ll spend this year’s festive period at their home with their two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
It’s believed Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland will also join them for the celebration. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are hoping to make Christmas “extra special” for Archie and Lilibet.
“Meghan’s mom Doria will join them at home in Montecito and they’ll ensure the children have a joyful day, despite not being around extended family,” a source told Closer.
