Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hide kids’ faces on Christmas card for heartbreaking reason
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have given fans a rare glimpse of their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
In an adorable snap on the Sussexes’ 2024 Christmas card, the two youngsters can be seen running towards their beaming parents who are posed ready to embrace them. Harry and Meghan have been very private about their children and their faces are kept hidden in the new photo.
Lilibet can be seen running towards the Duke of Sussex with her back to the camera, while Archie dashed toward his mom. This careful approach to their children’s privacy seems to stem from Harry’s security concerns.
It’s been a couple of years since the last public photos of Archie and Lilibet were shared during Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries. Moreover, the past two holiday cards did not feature the children.
A source told People Magazine, “Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats. He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm.”
In line with this, it appears that Harry and Meghan have also prepared a separate, more personal Christmas card for their inner circle, possibly with a different family photo, which they intend to keep under wraps.
Archie and Lilibet aren’t the only stars in Harry and Meghan’s family Christmas photo as their three dogs Guy, Pula, and Mamma Mia also feature in the charming snapshot. Harry and Meghan shared six photos in total on their digital Christmas card, revealing a glimpse into their year.
The message alongside the card said, “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful New Year.”
In their yearly roundup of heartwarming moments, one image captured Meghan’s tender hug with a little girl, while another showed Harry’s loving embrace around his wife. One more image captured an infectious bout of laughter as they sat amongst friends. A fifth picture showed them enjoying an outdoor event and the last snap showed Harry’s heartfelt handshake with a man resting in bed.
