Prince William has revealed a cherished Christmas tradition that he shares with his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, away from the rest of the Royal Family.
The royals typically have a busy schedule during the festive season, with most of them heading to Norfolk for several days of holiday cheer.
On Christmas morning, they traditionally walk together to church in Sandringham, greeting well-wishers along the way, before indulging in a lavish Christmas lunch at Sandringham House.
However, the Prince of Wales recently disclosed another family tradition – taking their dogs for walks.
This revelation came during his visit to a seasonal event for families of the 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment in his capacity as colonel-in-chief at Bulford, Wiltshire, on Tuesday. William spent time chatting with soldiers and their families and distributed presents to children around a Christmas tree.
Leah St Clair-Lewis, from the WRVS, spoke with William about her role within services welfare and their dogs. She said: “We spoke about what he was up to for Christmas and enjoying walks with his dogs at Sandringham.
The Waleses currently have one dog, a black cocker spaniel named Orla, gifted by Princess Kate’s brother, James Middleton, following the death of their previous cocker spaniel, Lupo, in 2020, reports the Express.
In other news, Prince William admitted that he was “not ready” for the holiday season. He told one family: “Am I ready for Christmas? No, no way am I ready.”
The prince also shared his excitement about spending the day with 45 members of his family “all in one room,” a change from their usual scattered gatherings.
