Pressure Mount on Prince William and Kate Middleton Over upholding the Mon…
Kate Middleton has been told by friends that she’s lucky to have Prince William as a husband, but the couple are reportedly feeling the pressure to be perfect.
The couple recently went through one of the worst things a couple could go through when Kate was diagnosed with cancer. This past September, she announced she completed chemotherapy and a month later she made her first official public engagement appearance since she shared her diagnosis in March.
But things have been a bit rocky after an investigation was released earlier this month that claimed King Charles and William’s estates profited off of tax payers. According to a source, this has sparked “panic” among palace aides.
A source told In Touch Weekly that the royal couple “are under enormous pressure to represent a positive image of the monarchy.” William is reportedly taking the stress pretty hard.
Robert Hardman, the author of the book Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, claimed that a friend of the Prince of Wales told him: “He has lost his mother, he’s effectively lost his brother, his wife’s got cancer, his father’s got cancer, and he’s trying to keep the show on the road.”
He added: “It could hardly be more stressful.” But the couple have already made it through the stress of Kate’s cancer diagnosis.
Kate’s friends reportedly told the princess how lucky she was to have William during the beginning of their relationship. According to Claudia Joseph, author of Kate Middleton: Princess in Waiting, she responded with five words and a smile: “He’s lucky to have me.
William has definitely been protective over his wife the past year. When the couple attended the annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in London, a body language expert noted that when William put his arm around his wife, he appeared “more tense and alert.”
Body language expert Darren Stanton continued: “In William’s face we can slightly see this tension, which is quite unusual for him. It’s a protective instinct from him, but he isn’t overbearing, he allows Kate to have her own space and present herself independently.”
