Breaking News: Princess Catherine ‘gave Meghan Markle THIS opportunity’ as she urged William to solve rift
The Princess of Wales allegedly tried to “give Meghan Markle a chance”, but her efforts were “not responded to,” an explosive new royal book has claimed. Princess Catherine and Meghan do not appear to be as close as they once were, with the duo making joint appearances during the Duchess’s short royal tenure.
There was once a time when the Sussexes and the Waleses, who were nicknamed the ‘Fab Four’, would appear as united at key events as a powerful new quartet in the Royal Family following Prince Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding. But cracks in their bond began to form, and the two couples began to drift apart, with their rift climaxing after Harry and Meghan’s bombshell exit from the Firm in 2020.
The Sussexes have made various accusations about the Prince and Princess of Wales, including the alleged bridesmaids row between Catherine and Meghan and William’s objections to Harry’s relationship with Meghan. William and Catherine have never commented on the claims.
Now, a new book about the Prince and Princess of Wales has given fresh insight into what went on between the two couples, with a key extract focusing on the relationship between the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex.
The new biography, William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, by the Daily Mirror’s Royal Editor, Russell Myers, delves into how Catherine attempted to heal the rift between William and Harry and how she rushed to help the former Suits actress when she first joined the Firm.
Mr Myers writes: “Meghan and Catherine were two women from incredibly different worlds and very different backgrounds.
Meghan had crafted a successful career for herself, while Catherine had essentially had one job. Perhaps two if you count working for the family business.
They did not dress in the same way or act in the same way. But despite this – and at first the contrast between the two women was largely contrived by the media – Catherine was willing to give Meghan a chance.
The author claims that the future Queen “adored Harry” and had urged her husband to maintain his relationship with him despite their differences.
He adds: “Catherine and Sophie, the then Countess of Wessex and now Duchess of Edinburgh, had attempted to assist Meghan as she assimilated into royal life, but their ‘repeated attempts’ were not responded to.
