Just In: Princess Beatrice in Turmoil as she can no longer hide her frustration as Andrew created more problems for them
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson torched their own marriage decades ago – now their shame is stressing one of their daughters’ marriages. Princess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is currently enjoying time away from the attritional impact of the Epstein Files, by relaxing on a luxury island in the US.
According to his Instagram, the 42-year-old has spent time at the Fisher Island Club, in Florida, a highly prestigious area accessible only by ferry or private yacht. Meanwhile, Beatrice and her sister Eugenie have been keeping a low profile since their father spent 11 hours in custody on suspicion of sharing sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein during his time as a UK trade envoy.
Beatrice, 37, has been humiliated by her parents’ fawning relationship with the US paedophile, and left mortified when the Royal Family told her and Eugenie to avoid Royal Ascot this summer.
Now Beatrice has a new level of stress that could cause deeper anguish; yet again, this traces its source back to Andrew and Fergie’s excesses, greed and insatiable lust for lavish luxury.
Andrew has always denied any accusations or wrongdoing against him, but Beatrice’s in-laws are reportedly unhappy about the havoc the Epstein Files have wreaked on their own family.
It’s claimed Edoardo’s parents – Argentine-born Anglo-Italian aristocrat Alex Mapelli Mozzi and ex-wife Nikki Williams-Ellis – fear Andrew’s situation could impact their family and businesses
One source suggested: “There’s nothing good about any of this, and it’s affecting everyone in their immediate circles.
“Edo’s family is Italian aristocracy, so they’re beside themselves and furious their son is wrapped up in the York wreckage.
“Andrew’s arrest could damage business prospects and family reputation.
Andrew is 66 and made his own choice to be friends with Epstein and stay friends, even after the American’s child sex conviction.
Fergie made similar choices, both before and after Epstein admitted in court to procuring a 14-year-old girl for prostitution.
But Eugenie and Beatrice were dragged into Epstein’s web by their parents.
Now they have nowhere to turn to, and no real option to speak out – their father is on bail and a police investigation is ongoing.
So Beatrice will have to sit there and seethe over the mess her parents have made of their lives and reputations, and hope it doesn’t seep into her and Eugenie’s private lives.
It’s Mother’s Day this month, and Father’s Day in June. I bet Beatrice doesn’t send either of them cards.
