BREAKING: Sarah Ferguson’s latest shocking move is about to spell disaster for Beatrice and Eugenie

The pressure is growing yet the creaking dam is just holding – but how long can Sarah Ferguson ignore calls to testify about Jeffrey Epstein in the US? In July 2009 Fergie was desperate to fly to the ‘States to hook up with vile paedophile Epstein and celebrate his release from prison. You would assume she loves the other side of the Atlantic.

Files released by the Department of Justice in January revealed she remained in contact with the disgraced financier, including just 17 days before his release from a Florida jail for soliciting sex with minors. But despite US lawmakers repeatedly pleading with her to jet over and help them investigate Epstein’s vile web of abuse and lies, there has been only silence from the former Duchess of York.

Congressman Suhas Subramanyam, a member of the House Oversight Committee investigating the handling of Epstein’s past prosecution, said he now believed Fergie possesses “information related to the investigation”.

He added that Fergie should give sworn testimony to the committee – but there’s no legal mechanism to compel her to testify there so Subramanyam said they would be happy to agree any way to make it work.

Meanwhile Democratic Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury has urged anyone with information of Epstein’s wrongdoing to cooperate, to ensure justice for survivors.

Stansbury pleaded: “If Ferguson or any member of their family has such information, our responsibility is to follow the facts wherever they lead.

family of tragic Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre also said they “strongly believe” Fergie should go to the US to answer questions.

While Gloria Allred, a prominent lawyer representing some of Epstein’s victims, said it was “long overdue” for Fergie to volunteer to testify under oath – and also urged her to speak to police in the UK to answer their questions.

So the pressure on the dam is powerful and compelling. How long before it starts to creak?

Fergie’s at a crossroads. If, as some reports suggest, she is pursuing a multi-million pound US network interview or book deal to shore up her dwindling bank balance, then she has to testify.

There is no way a book or interview deal can happen while she avoids telling democratically-elected politicians all she knows to help bring justice to Epstein’s survivors.

Just imagine: “I’m sorry congressman I cannot to answer that question … but if you buy my book, reasonably priced at just £19.99 from all good retailers, it’s all in there!”

If Fergie takes the fork in the road where she declines to ever speak about her past friendship with the pervert then she has a serious financial problem.

Her businesses are closing and her sources of income are drying up quicker than the Gobi Desert.

Jonathan Coad, a media lawyer who previously represented Fergie, told the BBC there was “no chance” she would travel to the US, adding: “Of course she won’t, and if she were still my client, my very strong advice to her would be not to go.

It would be a disaster for her, for her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie – and also for Andrew, as it would show him up for not going.”

So Fergie’s on the road to hell – but like an idiotic drink-driver, she greedily got in the car to make that stupid journey in the first place.
