Breaking News: Royal family feels relieved as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor ‘ready to leave UK and never look back
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is “ready to leave UK and never look back”, according to a royal insider. The 65-year-old is just hours away from moving out of Royal Lodge on Sunday, a royal property which has been his home since 2004.
The former prince’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who has lived at the home since 2008, will also be packing her bags and moving out of the 30-room mansion. The royal will be moving to the King’s Sandringham Estate, but will move into a temporary home prior to settling into his new home.
Andrew, who will celebrate his 66th birthday next month, has reportedly been telling those around him that he is “ready to move out of the UK”.
An insider said: “Andrew has absolutely no intention of settling quietly into Sandringham.
“He sees it as humiliating and beneath him. He says if Charles and William think they can park him in some falling down dump and pretend he no longer exists they have another thing coming.
He’s always been incredibly spoiled and hedonistic and now he’s telling anyone who will listen that he’s ready to leave the UK for good and never look back.
Andrew is known to have a fully-staffed palace in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
It has been reported, however, that he thinks the Abu Dhabi palace is too quiet.
Andrew released a statement in October which shared that he will relinquish all of his remaining titles and honours amid his connection to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
