A Horrible And Heartbreaking Announcement: Andy Murray makes heartbreaking admission as wife ‘doesn’t want to see him’ as condition agreed after career change

Andy Murray has revealed his wife Kim Spears is thoroughly supportive of his regular golfing sessions, even if for a tongue-in-cheek reason. The 38-year-old tennis legend has taken to the greens since hanging up his racket and he’s already made a name for himself in several major tournaments.

His most recent appearance was at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Pro-Am back in October, where the two-time Wimbledon winner showcased an impressive display, reflecting his handicap of two. Murray teamed up with professional golfer Eddie Pepperell in his native Scotland and was chosen to be in the same group as Tyrell Hatton.

It’s been claimed that Murray even out-drove one of Team Europe’s Ryder Cup heroes on some holes, with the ex-tennis star taking to Instagram after the tournament to share his thoughts.

What a great week up in Scotland for my first @dunhilllinks,” his caption read. “Eddie Pepperell was not only a brilliant golfer, he was a brilliant partner to play with, so a huge thanks to Eddie for putting up with me and my rubbish golf.”

“Cheers to everyone who came out to support a great event and braved the brutal weather! And finally I want to say a huge thanks to everyone on social media for not sharing my mishap in the bunker the other day. The empathy and sympathy you all showed me was really touching. Horrible b******s!”.

Since retiring from professional tennis in May 2024, Murray has been spending plenty of time on the golf course. When asked on The Romesh Ranganathan Show how his wife Kim feels about this, the Scot had a clear answer.

“I don’t think she wants me in the house all day bothering her, to be honest,” he joked. “So, yeah, she’s fine with it, so long as I help drop-off and pick-up [the kids to and from school].

“I don’t think she massively wants to see me during the day. [At least] That’s what I think.”

While he’s demonstrated his golfing prowess and expressed ambitions to compete at The Open over the coming years, Murray is also considering a different route into the professional game.

I’m considering becoming a golf caddie, hopefully for a professional golfer at some stage,” he also admitted when speaking to Romesh. “I love golf and if you love that sport, it would be a great job.

If you are working with a top golfer and being there when they have a great moment on the course, and feeling like you can help a little bit with decisions and things like that, I think it would be a brilliant job.”

That said, Murray appears determined to first test himself as a player at the highest level. “I want to try and play in the regional qualifying [of The Open] at some stage,” he said recently.

“A couple of my friends have done it, and it would just be a fun thing to do if you got to the level where you’re able to do that, I would do it, but I certainly don’t think I would have any chance of qualifying for The Open.

I’m fully aware of how good the players that play in those events are and how good the pros are in comparison to amateurs. Even guys that play off +2, 3 [handicap] are miles off what these guys are.”
