Breaking News: Buckingham Palace Revealed Sad Reason King Charles won’t strip Meghan Markle and Prince Harry of Sussex title

Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020, adding fuel to the fire that is their feud with King Charles and other members of Harry’s immediate family. While they didn’t want to be working members of the family, they have always insisted that their titles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are very important to them.

Meghan made headlines this week after hitting back at her friend, Mindy Kaling, for calling her “Meghan Markle”. In the awkward moment, the Duchess fired back, “It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I’m Sussex now.”

She added that she loves the fact she shares a name with her children, “You have kids and you go, no I share my name with my children, and that feels so – I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go, this is our family name.

Meghan also told People magazine this week, “It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children.

“I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”

She added, “It’s part of our love story.”

King Charles ‘doesn’t want to make the rift any worse’ with Harry and Meghan
Royal author Phil Dampier says the royal family would likely be unhappy that Meghan discussed her royal connections.

“I doubt King Charles would like Meghan making references to the importance of Sussex as her name but I’ve always felt he’s reluctant to start any process of stripping her and Harry of their titles,” Phil told The Sun.

“It would be difficult to do and he doesn’t want to make the rift any worse, hoping one day there might be a reconciliation with his son.”

Phil adds that the show will not help the rift between the family, “The show won’t do anything to help mend the rift between them as it’s mainly just drivel about re-arranging fruit and lighting candles.”

“At least Meghan is trying to make money out of something else besides criticising the royal family. But any family reconciliation will take a lot longer and a real changing of attitudes on all sides.

However, Phil says he does believe the royals will watch a little bit of the show “out of curiosity”.

“I’m sure if you asked their spokesmen both the King and William and Kate would say they won’t be watching Meghan’s show but it’s hard to believe they wouldn’t take a sneak look out of curiosity,” he said. “Certainly it will be very poignant and sad for the King to see a glimpse of his grandchildren who he never sees.

“Archie and Lilibet are growing up in the US with American accents and it’s very sad for Charles that he doesn’t really know them or see them.

“He dotes on William and Kate’s kids and I’m sure he would be a loving grandfather to Harry and Meghan’s children if given the chance, despite everything that has happened.
