Breaking News: Palace makes last-minute change for Trump visit after worrying news

The royal family will be welcoming US President Donald Trump and the First Lady Melania for a much-awaited State Visit on Tuesday.

The couple will receive the full pomp and circumstance of a state banquet during the two-day visit as the UK government hopes to strengthen its ties with the US, especially amid global political tensions.

As the Palace prepares for the State Visit and the funeral of the Duchess of Kent – two significant events this week on the royal calendar – new strict security measures were installed around the royal residence.

The UK police is on high-alert just days after a close ally of Trump, Charlie Kirk, was shot at a university in Utah.

Security barriers have been put in place on the grounds of Windsor Castle and along the Long Walk. Furthermore, more than 100 US Secret Service agents are expected to accompany the president, alongside MI5 agents who are monitoring potential ‘lone-wolf attackers and underground political opponents’, according to The Mirror report.

Moreover, a security source added that “any sort of disruption of his visit by demonstrators, even if it is just spray paint, would be a coup for them so everything will be as tight as it can possibly be”.

There have anti-Trump protestors who have long been planning to hold ‘Trump Not Welcome’ protest on his arrival in London.
