King Charles is willing to give a chance to his estranged son Prince Harry as the Duke of Sussex makes his final attempt at reconciliation.
The Palace is set to receive an invitation from Harry for the upcoming Invictus Games in Birmingham in July 2027. As meetings and discussions take place among high level aides at the Buckingham Palace, there is complicated issue that has emerged crushing Harry’s hopes.
There is a good chance that the monarch would consider the invitation as he still holds a soft spot for his younger son. Although, Harry’s hopes may be crushed due to a clash with Queen Camilla.
The closing ceremony for the Invictus Games and Camila’s 80th birthday is falling on the same day, July 17, causing a major scheduling issue for royal planners.
According to The Telegraph, the planning for Camilla’s birthday will already be underway as it would be a milestone celebration.
Harry has been very clear about his feelings about his stepmother and dubbed her with unsavoury titles in his memoir, Spare, reportedly leaving Charles in anger.
Meanwhile, Camilla, regardless of how disappointed she felt about the snub, is steering clear of the rift between the father and son, per a People Magazine source.
The royal family has supported the Invictus Games despite their grievances with Prince Harry but it seems that the scheduling conflict may become the obstacle that holds back any possibility of a meeting.
