SAD NEWS: Queen Camilla Meltdown as King Charles ‘heartbroken’ at one of Camilla’s habits that’s causing ‘big trouble’ within the royal family

A Royal expert has highlighted that Queen Camilla once had a habit that caused concern within the Royal Family, particularly before her marriage to King Charles.

This month marked the 20th wedding anniversary of the King and Queen, an occasion met with significant fanfare and celebration.

The milestone prompted many to reflect on the couple’s long-standing relationship and its evolution over the years, including personal changes from their views to their habits. Notably, one former habit of Queen Camilla was smoking.

Royal commentators for the Daily Mail Rebecca English and Richard Eden have noted that Camilla quit smoking about “15 years ago”, a habit that Charles allegedly had little tolerance for.

During an episode of Palace Confidential, in response to a question about Camilla’s past as a smoker, Richard confirmed: “Yes she was for many years, but as her son Tom Parker-Bowles made clear quite recently, she has given up.

“You often see her portrayed in dramas chain smoking, knocking back the booze, but she’s given up the evil weed.”

Richard also suggested that the Royal Family’s aversion to smoking may stem from the fact that King Charles’ grandfather, King George VI, died from lung cancer, which is believed to have been exacerbated by smoking, reports Gloucestershire Live.

He commented: “Remember his grandfather had terrible health problems and lung cancer from smoking so it’s a big issue in the family.”

Rebecca chimed in with a remark about the King’s dislike for smoking. “King Charles hates smoking. I think he’s really intolerant of it. I think it’s one of the things he would have been intolerant of her doing.”

She went on to reminisce about an instance that suggested Camilla, Queen Consort, may have had a history of smoking. The moment occurred at a Buckingham Palace event.

Rebecca recalled: “I think the suggestion was maybe 15 years ago she gave up. I mean the Palace actually put out a question and answer on it because they were asked about it so much. I don’t know if I said it on the programme a few weeks ago.

“I was at an event at the Palace recently with Emily Mortimer the actress, I think Camilla knows her mother Penny because she used to ride out with her, and Queen Camilla said ‘How’s Penny?’ And Emily said ‘Oh well, you know still not doing what she shouldn’t do, she’s still smoking’.

“And Camilla just turned around and went ‘Oh, still on the fags then’. I think it’s kind of the only comment someone who used to smoke would come out with, it just made me laugh.”
