Breaking News: Buckingham Palace no longer fit for King Charles; Here’s why

King Charles, who walked down a busy road in London on Monday, is unlikely to ever return to using Buckingham Palace as his primary residence.

The 76-year-old monarch will reportedly continue living at Clarence House with his wife Queen Camilla, even after the extensive refurbishment of the 775-room Palace concludes.

The King, who’s facing health crisis and receiving cancer treatment, will reportedly abandon Buckingham Palace forever despite the completion of a £369 million renovation in 2027.

Camilla Tominey, writing in the Telegraph, reported: “One concession to his health and advancing years that has been made, however, is that it appears unlikely he will ever move from Clarence House to Buckingham Palace after the restoration is completed in three year’s time although it will remain the household’s office for the rest of his reign.”

If the King has really made the decision not to use the iconic Palace as his primary residence, it marks a departure from tradition, as Queen Elizabeth II resided at the monarch’s office throughout her reign.

Buckingham Palace will not host state visits until 2027 due to extensive renovation work, with Windsor Castle taking over ceremonial duties for the next three years.

According to reports, Windsor Castle will host dignitaries as the King’s office undergoes one of the biggest upheavals in its history.

On Monday, King Charles visited Lancaster Castle to take part in an ancient ceremony in front of John O’Gaunt gate, where the anti-royal group gathered alongside royal fans to welcome the monarch.
