Just In: Queen Camilla makes heartbreaking decision about King Charles, Prince Harry rift
King Charles and Prince Harry’s relationship seems to be at its lowest points as it has ever been and Queen Camilla has her own has her own stance on the matter.
The Duke of Sussex has not made secret about his dislike for stepmother, especially in his memoir, Spare, in which he labelled her as an ‘evil stepmother’ and a ‘villain’. As soon as the book had hit the shelves, the Sussexes were issued a notice of eviction from their Frogmore Cottage.
At the time, sources said that Charles was furious that Harry had insulted Camilla in such a way. As the rift continues, Harry publicly made a plea to reconcile with his family during his BBC interview and noted that his cancer-stricken father isn’t speaking to him.
According to an insider cited by People Magazine that the King is unlikely to make the first move since he is “not surrounded by voices encouraging reconciliation”.
The source explained that Prince William – who was also bad-mouthed in Spare – has no interest in reconciliation with his estranged brother.
As far as Camilla is concerned, she “stays out” of the feud between Charles and his son. Even though, she could provide ammunition to completely cut out Harry.
According to royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith, the King and William “don’t trust Harry and Meghan with any kind of confidential conversation”.
The update also comes just at the heels of reports that Harry had plans to drop his family name Mountbatten-Windsor – a name the the King is proud of just as his father Prince Philip was – and assume the name Spencer.
However, Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, had advised against it.
Whether Charles will finally reconcile with his son appears to be a far-fetched notion at this point. Moreover, the recent events and the BBC interview seems to have only aided in widening the rift between them.
According to royal expert Valentine Low, “It wasn’t meant to be an attack, but it would be seen as one. It makes Charles reaching out even harder.
