SAD NEWS: Dying king Charles heartbroken as Prince Harry set to be prosecuted for treason

A royal expert said that some members of the public believe Prince Harry “should be prosecuted for treason” after making comments surrounding King Charles’ health last week. After losing his court appeal regarding his UK taxpayer-funded security rights, Prince Harry, 40, sat down for a bombshell interview with the BBC, in which he said he does not know “how long” his father the King, 76, has left.

Harry, who quit royal life in 2020 and moved to California alongside his wife Meghan Markle, made this comment after claiming that his dad “won’t speak” to him. The comment also comes as the King continues cancer treatment following his diagnosis over a year ago. Since Harry’s comment last Friday, one royal expert said people have contacted him about the matter.

During a live episode of The Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential, the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden revealed: “I have had several people contact me to say that Harry should be prosecuted for treason.

“The way he sort of put it, ‘I don’t know how long he has left’, it really struck the opposite tone to what we have heard from the Palace which is one of positivity about his treatment. It did seem deeply unpleasant, I would say.

In law, the Treason Act 1351 made it a crime to ‘compass’ or ‘imagine’ the death of the sovereign.

Prince Harry made the comments about the King’s health after telling the BBC that he would love to reconcile with his family.

He said in the bombshell interview, in which he also suggested his family and the Palace could have played a part in his security rights issue: “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.”

Buckingham Palace did not respond to the comments made by Harry on the King’s health, but instead responded to the outcome of the court case and Harry’s lost appeal to have his taxpayer-funded security rights returned to what they were when he was a working royal in the UK.

A Palace spokesperson said: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.
