Queen Camilla ‘wasn’t keen’ on Kate Middleton for key three reasons: But it suddenly turns to…

An expert has suggested that Queen Camilla was initially not fond of Princess Kate when Prince William first introduced her to the Royal Family.

William and Kate’s relationship began in 2003, after meeting at the University of St Andrews in 2001. They even lived together with other roommates during their university years.

Despite Kate now being a central figure in The Firm and polling as the most popular family member, there were reportedly some reservations when William first introduced her to his family. Royal expert Tom Quinn claimed that Camilla was particularly uncertain about her potential daughter-in-law.

Speaking on Channel 5’s The Middleton’s: Modern Royal-in-laws, he stated: “I’d heard that Camilla wasn’t very keen on Catherine. She didn’t shoot, she’s not into horses particularly, there was too much of a gap and William would feel it. But I think it’s true to say that Camilla later warmed to Caterine and recognised her solid virtues.”

Unlike many members of the Royal Family, including children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Kate is said to dislike horse riding.

This is believed to be due to a long-standing rumour that the 43-year-old could be allergic to horses, reports Cambridgeshire Live. During an episode of the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential podcast in October, host Jo Elvin remarked: “I think you can’t be royal and not love horses.”

In response, the paper’s Editor at Large, Charlotte Griffiths, noted: “Catherine doesn’t. She doesn’t like riding, I think she’s allergic to them.”

Since their initial encounter, Kate and Camilla have reportedly developed a strong rapport. Royal expert Angela Levin shared with GB News: “Camilla gets on very, very well with Catherine and helped her to understand the way you needed to be in the palace because it’s very difficult.”

On the other hand, Charles, William’s father, is said to have been particularly warm and inclusive towards Kate. According to Royal author Katie Nicholls: “Charles really made a point of welcoming Kate into the family from an early stage. She was often invited for shooting weekends up at Berk Hall. It’s Charles who largely taught Kate to stalk.”

However, Nicholls suggests that Prince Harry wasn’t immediately won over by Kate when they first met. Apparently, he was concerned that she had too much of a stabilising influence on William, keeping him “too much on the straight and narrow”.
