Imposter Prince: Meghan Markle’s Dad gives brutal 15-word verdict on Prince Harry after years of feuding

Meghan Markle’s father has criticized Prince Harry, implying his daughter should have stayed with her first husband.

Thomas Markle Snr suggested the Duchess of Sussex should have stayed married to film producer Trevor Engelson, despite their marriage lasting less than three years. Meghan divorced Trevor before meeting Prince Harry through a mutual friend in July 2016.

Thomas, who has not yet met his son-in-law, expressed, “I really liked Trevor. I don’t think he ever understood why she dumped him either.”

Thomas also admitted he feels resigned to the likelihood of never meeting his grandchildren – Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three. Despite disapproving of some of Meghan’s actions, however, he affirmed his love for her, stating, “My door is always open to her.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Thomas added, “I love her and that will never change. I love all my children.” In the past, Meghan’s dad has begged his daughter to allow him to see Archie and Lilibet.

Speaking on U.K. TV last year, he fumed, “This is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent … To deny the right to see their grandchild.” Thomas has also spoken out about his estrangement from Meghan.

The one thing I never imagined was Meghan turning against me at this point in my life. I thought she would always be there for me. Meghan was mad at me because I posed for some paparazzi pictures before the wedding,” he said.

Thomas continued: “I was totally alone and being hounded.” He also told Mail on Sunday he has “apologized repeatedly” for the paparazzi drama.

Meghan’s relationship with her dad broke down after Thomas was caught staging paparazzi photos before Meghan’s wedding to Harry. Thomas was also forced to miss his daughter’s wedding ceremony due to ill health.

Meghan previously opened up about their broken relationship during her bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. “I grieve a lot,” she said. The Duchess of Sussex added: “I mean, I’ve lost my father.
