Kate Middleton and Prince William ‘riddle’ as Kensington Palace speaks out

A riddle of Kate Middleton and Prince William has sparked concern among Royal Family fans – after they skipped a HUGE Royal Family event before Christmas. King Charles held his traditional pre-Christmas lunch, but Kate and her husband Prince William pulled out at the last minute.
The pair were nowhere to be found, with reports saying they are in Norfolk with their kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and youngest, Prince Louis. They weren’t the only Royals to give their apologies, either, with Andrew, the Duke of York, also withdrawing.
It comes amid Andrew’s scandal of links to an alleged Chinese spy. One royal commentator has told the Sun newspaper that the scandal is “bigger than Epstein” and threatens to bring down the Duke of York, who has broken ties from Yang Tengbo.
Kate and Wills’ absence from the Buckingham Palace lunch has nevertheless sparked speculation, particularly as Wiliam, as the future King, typically attends such significant Royal events, a tradition he has upheld for many years.
A source from Kensington Palace insisted to the Telegraph: “The decision not to attend the lunch was made some time ago.” Charles held the luncheon for around 70 guests on Thursday (December 19) ahead of the festive week.
It’s believed the Prince and Princess of Wales and family immediately headed to Anmer Hall, their beloved country retreat on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. The decision to miss the annual event resulted in the King being without either of his sons at the Palace – although the Waleses are set to celebrate Christmas with Charles and Queen Camilla next week.
Despite missing today’s gathering, the Waleses unveiled their Christmas card this afternoon, featuring a charming family photo. In the picture, William and Kate are seen embracing their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
