Brand confirms details of Carole Middleton’s birthday gift from Princess Kate

A brand has confirmed the details of Carole Middleton’s £220 birthday gift from Princess Kate.

Last week, the Princess of Wales visited Corgi, a textile business that makes socks and scarves in Wales.

The following day was her mother Carole Middleton’s 70th birthday, and the company gave Princess Kate a sweet gift to mark the milestone.

Writing on its website, Corgi explained: “Before leaving, Princess Kate was gifted a Ribbed Zip Cashmere Cardigan in Ecru, a pair of Pure Cashmere Bed Socks in Navy for herself, designed especially for her visit and Cashmere Wrap in Navy for her mum who was celebrating her 70th Birthday the next day.

They were given to the Princess by Chris Jones’ 12 year old daughter Cari.”

Chris Jones, along with his sister Lisa Jones, are the grandchildren of the company’s founders who greeted the Princess of Wales on arrival.
The brand included the link for its “Women’s Cashmere Wrap”, which is available in a whopping 54 colours.

Its description says: “Using our simple guide we can reduce or add to the length and width of the product.

You can select an alternative colour from extensive yarn palette and even choose different buttons, add suede elbow patches and alter the neck detail.”

The cashmere wrap originally cost £220, but is now on sale for £176.

It is not known how Carole celebrated her 70th birthday, but she likely spent the occasion with her three children, Kate, Pippa and James.

All three of Carole’s children, whom she shares with Michael Middleton, live in the Berkshire area near their parents.

Princess Kate and Prince William moved to Windsor in 2022 with their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis.
The family of five lives in Adelaide Cottage on the Royal Windsor Estate.

Meanwhile, Pippa and her husband James Matthews live in a 32-room Georgian property that sits on a sprawling 150-acre estate in Berkshire.

Finally, James and his wife Alizee Thevenet live in a 16th-century Berkshire property with their one-year-old son, Inigo.
