Prince Andrew’s financial hit reportedly left him humiliated.
The shafted royal was given orders to vacate the Royal Lodge by his brother, King Charles, who cut him off financially. Andrew was even spotted doing his own gardening rather than hire on staff. His middle-class moves, though, aren’t something he’s particularly proud of and is concerned with the social fallout that could come with it.
Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich told Fox News: “Prince Andrew has voiced, to friends, he’s embarrassed [by] his situation. The declining disrepair and decay of his residence has become a spectacle, a visual reflection of the broader fallout from his despicable involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and further fall from royal favor.”
The King, Hilary explained, is insistent on keeping distance between them. She added: “The definite is that for Andrew, there is no return to being a major royal figure, nor even being part of the family ever. He is, deservedly so, a much-diminished man.
While he is shunned from his current lodging, he was granted access to a Middle Eastern palace, according to an expert. Speaking to the Daily Beast, Andrew Lownie claimed: “Andrew has been given the use of a palace by the Abu Dhabi authorities. It costs them nothing. He has been spending a lot of time out there in recent years, and I am told by reliable sources that from next year he may divide his time between the Middle East and the UK. He is expected to go between the two.”
The Royal family has spent several years in disarray after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped back from their formal duties and moved to Montecito. They blew the lid on the behind-the-scenes situation among the relatives. Thereafter, royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner compared the family to a horse race.
After Queen Elizabeth’s death, King Charles assumed the throne with Queen Camilla at his side. Prince William and Kate Middleton remain in line for the throne. Turner said: “William and Kate [are] in sight of the winning post with Charles and Camilla hot on their heels. Andrew is far behind choking in the dust.”
