No love lost between King Charles and Prince Harry as His Majesty is “embarrassed” by…
Everyone knows all about the disaster Prince Harry left in wake of stepping down from royal duties alongside wife Meghan Markle back in early 2020. Apparently sick and tired of the coverage and intrusion from media in the UK, the couple decided to leave it all behind and start a new life in California.
Since then, it has been nothing but a barrage of hate launched at both Harry and Markle. And although members of the British Royal Family would never admit it publicly, there is still an overwhelming feeling of resentment towards Harry from a large portion of his family. It has seemingly continued to affect King Charles III, who has struggled with losing his son and being unable to see him frequently.
Although they say time heals all wounds, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Charles when it comes to Harry. It appears to be getting worse, too, as Harry is set to travel to the UK in April to try to settle a legal matter.
Prince Harry set to appeal RAVEC decision in the United Kingdom in April
When Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) deemed that the two would receive a lesser version of protection whenever they travel to the UK. Harry has contested that decision and plans to appeal it in person on this upcoming trip.
Charles, meanwhile, will grant no special favors to Harry. According to royal correspondent Richard Palmer, this whole ordeal is a “source of embarrassment” for Charles: “The King is said to find it embarrassing that his son is taking legal action against His Majesty’s Government.”
Harry is upset that his father won’t grant him “guaranteed police protection”, while Charles is steadfast in his decision to not treat him much differently than other citizens who don’t partake in royal duties.
