Bizarre reason Prince William was ‘banned from movie rental store revealed

Prince William was reportedly banned from his local video rental store while still at university after he would not pay his late fines in time.

The Prince of Wales enrolled at St Andrews University in Scotland in 2001, where he studied Geography, after switching from History of Art
It’s where the future King met his wife, the Princess of Wales, who also studied History of Art.

A former staffer at a video shop near their university claimed that the prince was a regular customer, but not always a good one.

Named only as Zoe, the ex-video shop assistant claimed William’s favourite and most-rented film was romantic comedy Boat Trip, which was released in 2002.

She added that the royal would often browse the shop’s aisles but was eventually banned because he returned DVDs late and did not pay his late fees.

She told the Sun: “We used to serve Prince William quite regularly in the video shop in St Andrews before everything went digital.

“His DVDs were always late and his bodyguards would never want to pay the fines.

“We would end up, because it was just part of it, we had to ban Prince William until he paid up, which he always did in the end. He’s very nice.”

Regarding the prince’s favourite film, which stars former Playboy centrefold Victoria as a bikini model called Inga, Zoe said.

It’s got a very scantily clad lady in a blue bikini riding a banana. He rented that a couple of times at least.”

It is not clear whether the Princess of Wales watched the romantic comedy with her then-husband-to-be.

Prince William has been previously known to be a big fan of the Lord of the Rings films.

Back in 2014, following the London premiere of the first The Hobbit film, Actor Martin Freeman, who played Bilbo Baggins in the films, revealed: “He was a nice guy. He is the biggest royal fan.

“He knew all the facts about Middle Earth and I think I kept him talking too long.
