Duchess Sophie not pleased with Meghan Markle’s snub after major…

Duchess Sophie was reportedly left “surprised” after Meghan Markle “snubbed” her mentorship, a source has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex married into the Royal Family in 2018, and the Duchess of Edinburgh, who’s celebrating her 60th birthday today, thought that she could give her plenty of useful advice regarding navigating through the Firm.

But after an alleged heartfelt meeting between the two, Meghan reportedly never reached out to the Duchess of Edinburgh, who allegedly left the door open for her.

A source previously told the Sun: “It was just the two of them and they talked for hours.
“Meghan had so many questions and Sophie, who knows what it’s like navigating your way through the early days of transition from a commoner to a royal, gave freely of her advice.

The insider claimed Sophie initially thought Meghan was “likeable and engaging” and told her that she could rely on her for any advice regarding some of the “trickier royals”.

But the source added: “She was quite surprised when that was the last she heard from Meghan.”

“As she noted, it would’ve been nice to receive a return invitation to Frogmore Cottage (the Sussexes’s former UK base)”

Former Tory MP and podcaster Gyles Brandreth wrote about Meghan’s snub in his book Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait.

The author claimed: “The [late] Queen (who, of course, had seen it all before) understood Harry’s girl might find adjusting to royal life ‘challenging to begin with’ (as she put it).

It is very jolty, but you soon get used to it’ — that was Her Majesty’s experience going back many years.

“To help Meghan, the Queen suggested that her daughter-in-law, Sophie Wessex, would be an ideal mentor. ‘Sophie can help show you the ropes,’ said the Queen.

“Meghan made it clear that she did not feel she needed Sophie’s help. She had Harry.
