William and Kate ‘make feelings clear’ to King Charles about Prince George’s future

Prince George is unique among 11-year-olds in knowing exactly what job he’ll be doing when he grows up. But his parents Prince William and Princess Kate are in no rush to begin his training just yet.

Robert Jobson, author of Catherine: The Princess of Wales, told Hello! Magazine: “William and Catherine have made it clear to the King that they are committed to balancing royal duties with family life and it will be the same this year.

He says that the idea is to let George develop into a good person, which will allow him to become a good king. Robert explained: “Their aim is for George — as well as Charlotte and Louis — to grow into well-adjusted adults, ready for the role when the time comes.”

However, there are some inevitable changes coming into play. George is said to be “very close” to his bother Louis and sister Charlotte, but they are set to be forced apart by a strict royal rule.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte – who are third and fourth in line to the throne respectively – will no longer be allowed to travel together.

The rule will come into effect when Prince George turns 12 in July. He will be prevented from travelling in the same aircraft or helicopter with his father, Prince William, or his sister, Princess Charlotte, except under extraordinary circumstances and with explicit permission from King Charles III.

This measure has been in place for decades and is aimed at protecting the royal line of succession in the event of some unforeseen accident. Princes William and Harry were subject to the same rule.

Graham Laurie, a former royal pilot for King Charles, told the Express: “We flew all four: the Prince, the Princess, Prince William, and Prince Harry, up until Prince William was 12 years old.

“After that, he had to have a separate aircraft, and we could only fly all four together when they were young with the written permission of Her Majesty.”

It’s a fairly strict rule, but not completely unbending. King Charles III was known to travel with his children, Prince William and Prince Harry, on occasion after his divorce from Diana, Princess of Wales.
