Royal Family LIVE: The five ways Prince William, Kate will change the Firm when they becomes King and Queen

Prince William has reportedly drafted a five-point plan of changes for the monarchy in preparation for the day he becomes King.

The Prince of Wales, 42, is set to implement drastic plans for the Royal Family and the way it works when he takes over the crown from his father King Charles, as revealed by a well-placed source.

While these changes are not definite or set in stone, they are believed to include an even slimmer monarchy than the one Charles, 76, currently has, with fewer royal engagements and patronages, less formality, and a wave goodbye to the beloved Commonwealth.

The plan could also see William set the focus almost entirely on the Wales family, with scaled-down coronation and ceremonies forming a big part of this.

Although this has not been confirmed by the prince or the Palace, the idea that changes will come was hinted at by William when he described his future aim to be Royal with a small “r”. In Cape Town last year, William said: “I’m trying to do it differently and I’m trying to do it for my generation. And to give you more of an understanding around it, I’m doing it with maybe a smaller a smaller R in the royal. It’s more about impact philanthropy, collaboration, convening, and helping people.

Major move Prince William and Princess Kate made to give children more ordinary upbringing
Prince William and Princess Kate may be the future King and Queen of the UK, however behind closed doors their main job is being a parent to Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

Despite leading busy lives, both William and Kate are known for being hands-on with their children’s upbringing, which involves playing with them in the garden, cooking with them and doing the daily school runs.

It has been reported that the couple want all three of their children to have as normal a childhood as possible, which even led to Prince William making one major move in 2022 as they swapped life at Kensington Palace for a new way of living in a four-bed cottage on the Windsor Castle estate.

Royal who tried to act as peacemaker between Prince William and Prince Harry
Prince Harry and Prince William’s ongoing rift has been well-documented over the last few years, with Harry’s memoir Spare believed to have been the final straw for their relationship.

Despite the fact the brothers were once close, their relationship began to deteriorate when Harry quit life as a senior royal in 2020 and moved across the pond to America with his wife Meghan Markle.

This was made worse by Harry’s admissions in the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, released just months before his memoir Spare, where he accused his older brother of physically fighting him.

While it is believed that Princess Kate tried to act as a peacemaker between the once-close siblings when the rift first began, it has also been reported that Duchess Sophie also attempted to take on this role.
