Royal Family LIVE: Meghan Markle ‘absolutely against’ Prince Harry’s offer to Royal Family

Meghan Markle was reportedly “absolutely against” an offer Prince Harry made to the Royal Family last year to help them in their time of need, a royal expert has claimed.

Back in February, King Charles confirmed he had been diagnosed with cancer and had revealed this to his family, including Prince Harry in America, before the news broke worldwide.

While the relationship between the monarch, 76, and his youngest son had been strained since Harry, 40, quit life as a senior royal in 2020, it was reported that Harry was willing to return to a temporary royal role to support his father during this time.

The offer was not only refused by the Palace but also disliked by his wife Meghan, 43, who has shown no signs of ever wanting to return to the Royal fold. Royal expert and author Tom Quinn told the Mirror at the time that the Duke made the offer “safe in the knowledge it would be rejected” and he wouldn’t have to return.

He continued: “Harry knows he will never be allowed to be a permanent part-time working royal staying six months in the States and then six months in the UK.The family no longer trust him and, besides, Meghan is absolutely against it. There is far too much bad blood now for it to be even a remote possibility.

The Queen is understood to have had a “soothing” friendship with a female member of the Royal Family who she felt closer to than any other – with the exception of daughter Princess Anne.

According to a royal biographer, it was the Duchess of Edinburgh who the Queen formed such a close relationship with that the pair would often spend time together watching old war films and documentaries.

Ingrid Seward told OK!: “With the exception of her daughter Anne, the Queen was closer to Sophie than any of the other royal women.

“It really was a genuine closeness, and Elizabeth was always Sophie’s biggest confidante.”

Meghan Markle made a stunning return to social media yesterday with her first post on Instagram in several years.

The Duchess of Sussex has posted a video on her page, showing her running along a beach barefoot towards the sea.

She then stops, before writing “2025” in the sand with her finger in apparent homage to the New Year.

The smiling mum-of-two then runs back towards the camera.
