King Charles has been slammed by royal fans for not including youngest son Prince Harry, his wife Meghan Markle, and their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in his 2024 Christmas address.
In the speech, the monarch said the holiday was “a chance for family and friends to come together” and how people need to protect the environment “for the sake of our children’s children.”
Photos of his oldest son and heir Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children, Princess Charlotte, Prince George and Prince Louis, were shown in the speech. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were nowhere to be seen.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan chided: “The mans a hypocrite, pleading with people to feel sorry for him . Perhaps if he’d been a better father to his sons he would be allowed to see more of his grandchildren.”
Another added: “Every year the same BS. how sad [King Charles] not seeing [Archie and Lilibet] at Xmas time. If this deadbeat [grandfather] really wanted to see his [grandkids] coz he is missing out, this man has a private jet, pack some bits, jump on the jet & head to Montecito & spend time with them. Simple.”
In 2020, Harry and Meghan moved their family to Montecito, California, and took a step back as senior members of the Firm.
According to the Daily Beast, a source claimed that Charles hopes to make amends with the Spare author, despite William reportedly blocking him from coming back to the UK.
The elder son believes Harry’s betrayal of the family in his books and interviews, in which he accused a member of the family, later revealed to be Kate, of racism, has put him beyond the pale. William’s consent is needed because Charles, who is sick with cancer, feels he cannot bequeath his heir a settlement with Harry that William cannot live with,” the outlet said.
The King was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and will continue his treatment into 2025.
Kate is also allegedly “on a mission” to reunite Harry and Charles after years of feuding, according to an insider.
