Kensington Palace has been “really clear” about Princess Kate’s return to public life, a commentator has told GB News.
The Princess of Wales has shared update regarding her health journey over the course of this year, beginning with Kate’s hospitalisation for abdominal surgery in January.
At the time, the Palace announced: “The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery.
“Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.
However, the princess sat down for an emotional recorded message in March, announcing she was beginning a course of preventative chemotherapy.
As a result, Kate did not make her first official appearance in public until June at Trooping the Colour.
At the time, the mother-of-three said: “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.”

She began attending a few staggered events, including meeting bereaved family members of the Southport stabbing victims, observing Remembrance Sunday services, and hosting her annual carol service.
Gareth Russell, a royal commentator, spoke exclusively to GB News, suggesting that Kate’s approach to her health journey is a “great reminder to us all”.
He said: “The royal households have been really clear that a return to public life by the Princess of Wales will be staggered.
“It’s a great reminder to all of us that a process of recovery can come in fits and starts, and also that there’ll be events that she can make and events that she can’t, and that for anyone going through that kind of treatment, there’ll be events that they might have to miss.
For example, Princess Kate joined her husband, Prince William, to greet the Amir of the State of Qatar and his wife on the morning of December 3.
However, she did not attend the State Banquet in the evening, hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Russell continued: “Certainly, for someone like the Princess of Wales with three young children, there’ll be events that she just won’t be able to make in the short term, but hope to see a long-term return to public duty.
