Princess Kate ‘hugely graceful’ to health care workers as she shares touching moment with…

Princess Kate expressed her gratitude to anNHS worker who hailed the princess as an “inspiration” to all the cancer patients who worked on her ward.

Rachel Anvil, who works at Royal Papworth Hospital, described the Princess of Wales as “wonderful” following her Christmas day meeting with the royal.

The Princess of Wales joined King Charles and Queen Camilla for the traditional Christmas morning walk to St Mary Magdalene Church at Sandringham.

Kate beamed as she stepped out for the service, displaying a cheerful demeanour alongside her husband and children
Speaking about the princess, Rachel told the Mail: “She was really respectful and grateful.”

“She said people like me and other health care workers are the ones who are doing all the hard work.

“She was really lovely. It was a real privilege. We are only down the road.

“To get close and personal, is not an opportunity that comes up all the time. I shook her hand. I’m really lucky.

The Princess of Wales praised Rachel for her “hard work” and expressed that she was “truly grateful for the work of all health workers.”

She said: “The amount of people who have written this year is extraordinary and I think cancer just really does resonate with so many families. People like you are doing all the hard work out there. I’m hugely grateful.”

Kate announced she was diagnosed with cancer in March, but, in a boost to her health, the princess released an update in September in which she revealed she has completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment.

Members of the public who met Kate described her as “radiant.

Princess Kate was also seen hugging Karen Maclean, who said she had had “20 years of cancer”.

The 73-year-old, from North Lincolnshire, described the experience as a “privilege” as she spoke with both Princess Kate and King Charles about the disease.

Maclean said: “We just had a little talk about cancer, really. I’ve met the King before. He said to me ‘I can remember you’, I’m thinking ‘what!’, like many years ago?”

Maclean described the two royals, who announced they had been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year as “very well actually, considering what they’re going through.
