Kate Middleton will continue with her return to work when her doctors “give the go-ahead,” according to a source.
The Princess of Wales stepped back from her public duties earlier this year after being diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer. After completing her chemotherapy treatment in September, however, she’s been making a number of high-profile appearances.
Princess Kate recently hosted her annual Christmas Carol Concert and even joined Prince William as they welcomed the Emir of Qatar and his wife on their state visit to the UK. Fans have been hoping to see more of Kate and one source believes it could be soon.
They said she will undertake more royal duties “when she’s ready and her doctors give the go-ahead.” Speaking to People, a second source added, “She has to get back on top of it. And she will if she is left alone to work it out for herself.”
Decisions about Kate’s public engagements for 2025 will be made in line with medical advice. Kate previously spoke about her return to work when she released a video announcing the end of her cancer treatment.
“Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” she said. The Princess admitted she was “looking forward to being back at work” and undertaking some public duties when possible.
She has so far carried out five engagements since returning to work. As well as her Christmas concert and the Qatari state visit, Kate joined the royal family for the Festival of Remembrance and Remembrance Sunday and also met with families in Southport, England, in October.
As Kate continues with her recovery, it’s believed Prince William is planning to treat his wife to a romantic trip. The Prince of Wales wants to take Kate to the the Isles of Scilly so they can “create memories” together, according to a source.
The source told Bella Magazine that the place is one of the couple’s favorites. They hope the trip will allow them to “escape for some quiet time together.”
