Prince William takes big step to replace King Charles amid monarch’s abdication plans
Prince William took a big step to replace his father King Charles for a major event amid the monarch’s new abdication plans.
King Charles is said to be considering to make a historic announcement about his abdication and Prince William and Kate Middleton will be the king and queen much sooner than anyone imagined.
According to a report by the In Touch Weekly, per OK! Magazine, the royal insiders claimed, “The whispers that Charles is planning to step down are growing louder,” and the past few months have been “particularly rough.”
The sources added, “Charles waited so long to become king, but at this point, no one could blame him for giving up the throne so he can live the last months of his life in peace.”
Amid these claims, the Prince of Wales represented King Charles at the opening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Now, according to reports, Prince William stepped in for King Charles as the monarch takes weekly cancer treatments and only paused them during his tour of Australia and Samoa.
The reports further claimed King Charles’ health may have played a part in Prince William replacing his ailing father during the reopening of Notre Dame in Paris.
Earlier, the Independent quoted a Palace spokesperson as saying, “The Prince of Wales will travel to Paris tomorrow to attend the ceremony marking the reopening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral. His Royal Highness is traveling at the request of His Majesty’s Government on behalf of the United Kingdom.
