Prince William and Kate Middleton will ‘break the royal rules’ after Harry and Meghan decision

Kate Middleton and Prince William are planning to scrap all the “old royal rules” when they become King and Queen, according to a source.

The Prince of Wales is next in line to the throne and Kate will become Queen Catherine when he’s crowned. The source said there will be “a lot of practical decisions” to make once William becomes King, but suggested he and Kate are keen to change things up.

She and William want to focus on truly helping people through their charitable endeavors and dial down all the pomp and circumstance,” they explained. The source suggested William and Kate will focus more on meeting with “experts and activists who are capable of effecting real change” instead of going on royal tours.

The source suggested these changes will help to “keep the monarchy relevant.” The changes come after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to leave the royal family due in part to the strict rules of the monarchy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step down as senior royals after being denied the chance to try a “half in, half out” approach to royal life. Speaking to In Touch Magazine, the source admitted, “Truthfully Kate and William have found them stifling as well.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales are planning a more relaxed approach to life inside the royal family and have already started breaking some rules, including the ban on taking selfies. The source also said Kate and William have started creating their own work schedules.

The couple are planning to make sure they have enough time to spend with their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – even if it means taking on less work. “The kids have always come first, and that won’t change just because Kate and William are sitting on the throne,” the source explained.

When it comes to William’s coronation, there would need to be a lot of planning. Usually, it takes months for a coronation to come together.

While there are some elements that can’t be changed, the source said William is hoping to be able to make the event his own. They also suggested his coronation will be “dramatically scaled down” from King Charles’ celebration last year following public outcry over the $91 million cost.
