Kate was disinterested in a long-distance relationship with William. Therefore, the couple set up a home near RAF Valley, Anglesey in Wales, where William was stationed.

Jobson wrote, “William later described their first real home together as an ‘immensely special place for us both’. His partner, however, admitted she sometimes felt a bit lonely. ‘It was so isolated, so cut off. I didn’t have my family around me, [and] he was doing night shifts.’”

By October 2010, William decided the time was right to propose. Almost a decade after they first started dating, William asked Kate to marry him while on vacation in a cabin hut on the side of Mount Kenya in Africa.

One month later, the couple sat down with Tom Bradby for an official engagement interview at Clarence House. She stated, “It was a total shock when it came. There’s a true romantic in there.”

In keeping with her nickname of years past, Pippa wore a stunning Sarah Burton gown that clung to her curves and accentuated her backside. This element of her dress got as much attention as the wedding itself.

William and Kate married at Westminster Abbey and later christened the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge by Queen Elizabeth in a wedding that drew millions of viewers from around the globe.
