Prince Harry and William slammed as ‘unbelievable’ for cashing in on royal…
Prince Harry and Prince William left Ricky Gervais stunned after not paying for tickets to one of his stand-up shows.
The comedian and actor appeared on the Stick to Football podcast, where he claimed that the royal brothers attended one of his previous comedy gigs at the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre alongside other A-list celebrities.
Once at a gig, I think it was Hammersmith Apollo, at the back was Harry and William, Madonna and Paul McCartney,” Gervais recalled, “Not one of them paid.
“What money have they got between them that lot?
In a joke with the podcast hosts, he branded the brothers’ behaviour as “unbelievable.”
In addition to discussing famous faces appearing at some of his shows, Gervais also went into detail about the early stages of his stand-up comedy career following the success of The Office, spoke about his vegan lifestyle, and explored cancel culture.
The 90-minute interview trended at number one on YouTube.
The gig in reference was likely to have been in 2016, as Gervais previously spoke on the “unbelievable” entourage of seven-person security officers that accompanied the princes when he appeared on the Graham Norton show in early 2017.
Prince Harry and William are thought to be not on speaking terms following a breakdown in the brother’s relationship.
The Duke of Sussex, who moved to California after he announced he would step back from being a senior working royal in January 2020, has made serval claims critical of members of the Royal Family.
In his controversial memoir Spare, released in 2023, Harry described his older brother as his “arch-nemesis”.
Prince Harry is also not on speaking terms with King Charles, according to reports.
After some signs of reconciliation, Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond claimed Prince William has “zero interest” in fixing the broken relationship.
“Early on it was Harry, who was demanding an apology. There was going to be no meeting of minds or meeting in reality until there was an apology for the affronts he thought had been made to his wife,” she explained.
“But now I think the tables have turned somewhat. Messages coming from Harry’s side are that he’s ready at least to forgive and that he loves his family,” Bond added.
The Sussexes will spend the festive season in the US, away from the Royal Family, continuing the pattern of recent years.
