Mike Tindall’s pal with links to Harry, William and Kate says ‘some royals aren’t as great as…

Mike Tindall’s friend who attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding has said some members of the Royal Family are not as great as others during a new interview.

James Haskell, who co-wrote a book with Tindall as well as jointly presenting their The Good, the Bad, the Rugby podcast, has openly discussed his connections to the monarchy
Haskell has been pictured alongside royals including Prince William, Princess Kate, Princess Anne and Prince Harry.

He told The Times: “I’ve spent time with the royals. Some aren’t as great as others.

They do amazing work — but they’re also a modern family that’s very dysfunctional.
“I went to Harry and Meghan’s wedding. I went to Mike and Zara’s wedding.

“To those who want to get rid of the monarchy — once they’re gone, they’re gone.

“There’s no way back from that, so remember that they serve an important role. I love what they do.

Haskell attended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding at Windsor Castle in 2018 with his now estranged wife Chloe Madeley.

Madeley married Haskell in 2018 but the duo announced they had separated in October 2023.
He said regarding the split: “I never intended to get separated and we tried very hard to ensure that didn’t happen.

“Chloe is utterly brilliant — she’s intelligent and she’s a fantastic mum. Our differences have to be put to one side.

The former England rugby star also discussed Mike and Zara Tindall’s wedding.

He said: “It was the perfect combination of ceremony and romance, coupled with the fact that both of them like to enjoy themselves.

“Did I wake up the next morning on my bed still in my black tie thinking, “Jesus, what did I do last night?” Potentially, yes.
