Meghan Markle ‘vows never to step foot in UK again’ in major blow for Prince Harry
Prince Harry’s potential return to the UK is up in the air as one royal author has suggested Meghan Markle has very different plans.
The former Suits actress “never wants to step foot” in England again, according to royal author Omid Scobie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from the royal family in 2020 before moving to Montecito, California, where they currently live with their two children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the monarchy has been tense ever since, but Harry has made several trips back to the UK, including a visit in February to see his father King Charles following his cancer diagnosis.
There has been speculation among royal fans that peace talks may be possible in the future. However, whether Harry will return to his native country alone remains uncertain.
Omid Scobie suggested Meghan has no intention of returning. The last time the couple visited the UK together was in 2022 for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
In his explosive book, Endgame, Scobie alleged Meghan “never wants to step foot in England again” as she “never really felt at home” during her time there. Scobie further alleged the Duchess of Sussex “never wants to be involved in the British monarchy again.”
However, Scobie suggested that Harry is “ready to forget” about his disagreements with the royal family. The author quoted the Duke of Sussex as saying, “I’m ready to move on past it. Whether we get an apology or accountability, who knows: who really cares at this point?”
Endgame was Scobie’s second royal-themed book following Finding Freedom, which was published in 2020. Endgame was described as a “penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy.”
The Duke of Sussex has previously opened up about his family and revealed plans for more trips to the UK. “So my family and my life in California is as it is. I have got other trips planned. That would take me through the UK or back to the UK, so you know, I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can,” he said during an appearance on Good Morning America.
