Royal fans are convinced that they’ve spotted Princess Charlotte in this year’s Lidl Christmas TV advert.

In the advert, which has been shown several times on TV already, a young girl can be seen helping an old lady collect her groceries after they fall out of her shopping bag and into the snow.

The old lady then gives the girl a pair of magical bells to say thank you, and it’s later revealed the special bells have the power to make wishes come true.

The young Princess Charlotte-lookalike then gives one of her presents, a warm beanie hat, to a young boy who she noticed was too cold to join in with other children who were playing in the snow.

While the young girl in the advert is in fact 10-year-old child actor Riona Gallagher from Northern Ireland, royal fans were convinced for a short time that it was the nine-year-old princess making a cameo.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one royal fan wrote: “Is Princess Charlotte doing the @lidl_ireland Christmas advert?”

Another said: “Doesn’t the girl in this years #Lidl Christmas Ad look like the lovely Princess Charlotte and of course our late Queen Elizabeth II too.”

According to the Daily Mail, the young actress said it’s “nice” to be compared to the princess.

The advert came out earlier this month to mark the run-up to Christmas, with members of the Royal Family also preparing for the festive season.

It was confirmed today that Princess Kate, 42, will be hosting her annual Together at Christmas Service at Westminster Abbey on Friday, December 6. This will then be broadcast on ITV and ITVX on Christmas Eve.

Princess Charlotte and her brothers Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, nine, are expected to attend the event alongside their parents Prince William and Princess Kate.
Other members of the Royal Family will also be in attendance.

The family are then expected to spend Christmas Day at Sandringham with King Charles and Queen Camilla.
