Prince Andrew ‘shoving two fingers up’ at King Charles and ‘dishonouring’ Royal Family
Prince Andrew is ‘shoving two fingers up’ at King Charles and ‘dishonouring’ the Royal Family, according to a royal commentator.
The Duke of York and King Charles’ royal feud rages on with tensions continuing to build over the residency at the 31-bedroom Royal Lodge in Windsor.
It was reported that Andrew refused to leave the £3million property, despite King Charles reportedly axing his £1million annual allowance.
Royal author Christopher Wilson believes the duke is “digging his toes in” and “shoving up two fingers at” Charles as he continues to live at the former home of the late Queen Mother and King George VI.
It’s dishonouring (the Queen Mother’s) memory. It’s shoving up two fingers at King Charles,” Wilson told The Sun.
“The state of his mind is reflected in the state of his home.
“It is falling all around him.
“He doesn’t care anymore.
The feud began when King Charles told the Duke of York to downsize to Frogmore Cottage, the former home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Charles instructed his Keeper of the Privy Purse, the monarch’s finance director, to cut the Duke of York’s £1million annual personal allowance.
The allowance was used to fund Prince Andrews lifestyle and security team.
The Duke of York has been reliant on the £1million a year allowance since he stepped back from Royal duties in 2019 following backlash from his controversial Newsnight interview.
Prince Andrew has been widely unpopular with the public since the release of a BBC interview where he discussed his friendship with late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Both Netflix and Amazon have released TV dramas based on Andrew’s 2019 career-ending interview, which are highly critical of the father of two.
The Duke of York currently resides in Royal Lodge with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, who is currently on a visit in Australia to promote her new children’s book.
She attended a primary schoolwhere she signed dozens of students’ posters, hats and books on Monday afternoon.
