Princess Kate is wielding influence despite a shortage of public appearances in 2024.
The Princess of Wales, 42, temporarily stepped back from full-time royal duties this year as she received preventative chemotherapy for her cancer.
Kate still stays active on social media and vocalises her support for the charitable causes she aligns herself with.
She signs her social media posts with a “C” for a personal touch, which helps her maintain her appearance despite not making in-person visits.
In a post, she wrote: “Baby Loss Awareness Week is such an important moment to support those who have experienced the devastation of baby loss. Sending love, strength and hope to anyone affected.C”
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said Kate writing her social media posts is a relatively new communication approach and an excellent step for the monarchy.
“This is such an effective and modern way of using her influence and staying in touch, even when she is not making personal appearances.
“Official statements from the Palace now seem quite stuffy and extremely formal by comparison.
She added: “Social media can be a source of awful abuse, but Catherine and William are showing that it can be used to spread goodwill and kindness.”
The use of social media aims to connect the royals to a younger audience and increase their popularity.
Prince William also signs off personal messages with the initial “W”.
The Prince of Wales wrote a message to the England football team following their Euro 2024 final loss, signed with his signature “W”
He said: “Thank you for creating a team that stands shoulder to shoulder with the world’s finest in 2024.
“Thank you for showing humility, compassion, and true leadership under the most intense pressure and scrutiny.
“And thank you for being an all-round class act. You should be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved. W.”
This personal approach differs from how the Prince and Princess of Wales communicate with the public compared to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The Sussexes don’t have an official Instagram posting of their news, but they do share information on their Sussex.com website.
