Best of all: Kate Middleton thanks Prince William with emotional nine-word remarks
Kate Middleton leaned heavily on her close family and friends as she underwent chemotherapy treatment following her shock cancer diagnosis.
Her husband Prince William cleared his schedule of official visits and meetings to be by her side during the initial stages of her recovery. The future king temporarily stepped back from his Royal duties to care for Kate and their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Kate recently announced her return to Royal duties. William’s support of his wife and her return to work comes after the Princess of Wales previously made a rare nine-word comment about her husband, demonstrating William’s unwavering support for her.
During the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend in June 2022, William and Kate, along with their two older children George and Charlotte, visited Cardiff. A video shared on X shows Kate interacting with a crowd that had gathered to see her and her family at Cardiff Castle.
As she shook hands, a woman told her that she would one day make a great Princess of Wales. Kate responded: “That’s very kind of you. I’m in good hands” gesturing towards William.
Kate was given the title following the death of Queen Elizabeth. King Charles declared he would follow royal tradition by naming his heir William as Prince of Wales – meaning Kate took the female version of it.
Kate returned to royal duties last month after stepping back during her cancer treatment. She was spotted with Prince William, King Charles and Queen Camilla at Crathie Kirk near Balmoral Castle.
Kate confirmed she had completed her chemotherapy treatment last month. In a heartfelt statement where she spoke of her cancer journey being “complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you”.
She added: “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”
