During Trooping the Colour in 2023, a special message was decoded in the Royals outfits. This was a special occasion for the Royal Family as it marked many significant moments. It was the first King’s Birthday Parade since King Charles had taken the throne and since Kate and William had been given the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales.
All three of the Wales children joined their parents and other senior royals for the major event – which is one of the monarchy’s biggest days annually.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were dressed smartly for the occasion. The young brothers wore bright red ties and navy jackets while Princess Charlotte was dressed in a smart white dress.
Princess Kate wore an elegant green outfit while Prince William wore his red military uniform. The Sun reported that the family were wearing the colours of the Welsh flag. A fan reportedly wrote on social media: “I just adore the attention to detail, the Wales family are wearing green white, and red, colours of the Welsh Flag.
This decision may have been a deliberate one to give a nod to their new titles which they had only been given nine months before.
Others suggested that Princess Kate’s new outfit may have had a double meaning as the green could also be seen as a nod to her new role as Colonel of the Irish Guards.
